Bani Yas Coop was founded in 1980 by a special decree issued by the UAE Government.
The Coop began its trading activities by servicing the local community in Baniyas.
In 1989, it acquired a land plot of 4,429 square meters in Baniyas to establish its biggest retail outlet in the Baniyas region.
Soon after, it embarked into retail leasing activities diversifying its income.
In 1990, it acquired another plot of land in Shahama and established its second major neighbourhood commercial center anchored by Bani Yas Cooperative Society.
